Skin Resurfacing (Skin Rejuvenation and Skin Care)

PDT, IPL, Blue light, RF Dark circles, melasma, acne

PDT RF IPL, chin scars

With the aging process and sun damage, our skin loses collagen, elastin and tissue hydration goes down.  The end result over time is looser skin.  Sun damage mottles  the complexion, creates wrinkles and can lead to pre-malignant skin lesions.  Where face, brow, or neck lifting repositions tissue and can tighten the skin, the surface of facial tissue may still need improvement.

Skin care with alphahydroxy acids, retinoid, growth factors and vitamins can do much to improve surface quality to the skin and is an important component of skin preparation for skin resurfacing.

Skin resurfacing technology has advanced leaps and bounds over the last decade.  Better understanding of how to harness the light spectrum has allowed more minimally invasive options for skin resurfacing.  Carbon Dioxide (CO2) laser resurfacing can do a great deal of skin tightening but it frequently knocks out skin pigment cells and occasionally gives a waxen or porcelain appearance to the skin.  Newer, minimally invasive resurfacing options with Fractional (Erbium-1540) treatments, Intense Pulse Light (IPL) photo facials, radiofrequency (RF) or photo dynamic therapy (PDT), all have a place for meeting individual patient needs.

A consult will allow us to best direct you to the technologies and types of resurfacing to refresh your skin with the least down time or sequela.
