"The three dimensional nature of the nose and its central place in the face draws the eyes to it when we meet people."
- Dr. Nelson
A central focus of the face, the nose is often one of the first features that others notice upon meeting. For many, a nose that is too large or too small can cause the face to look unbalanced with the rest of the face. In order to help individuals achieve a more proportionate structure, Jeffrey Nelson, M.D., F.A.C.S. offers nose surgery at his Tucson, AZ practice. Rhinoplasty can help you achieve the aesthetic results you desire, and with Dr. Nelson's welcoming and humorous personality, you will be at ease throughout your stay with us.
A professional artist, Dr. Nelson brings an aesthetic approach to his surgical procedures.
Nasal surgery ("rhinoplasty") is designed to alter various aspects of the nose, such as a hump on the bridge, large nostril size, angle and/or shape of the tip of the nose. Rhinoplasty can also alleviate breathing difficulties due to a deviated septum.
Depending on your desired outcome, our rhinoplasty surgeon, Dr. Nelson, will determine if a closed or open rhinoplasty is most appropriate. Closed rhinoplasty is performed through incisions made inside the nose, and open rhinoplasty surgery requires an incision on the midline tissue of the nose (colummella) and internally, which allows Dr. Nelson to lift the skin in order to contour the nose and correct a deviated septum with better precision.
If you have undergone a previous nasal surgery and now have unsatisfying results or complications, you may wish to inquire about rhinoplasty revision. Dr. Nelson can repair and/or reconstruct defective results.
In addition to primary and/or secondary rhinoplasty, patients often opt to undergo complementary facial procedures. Some of the most commonly combined procedures include facelift surgery ("rhytidectomy"), chin implant surgery ("chin augmentation"), and/or neck liposuction ("lipoplasty"). Dr. Nelson will discuss your options with you during your visit.
