The face lift procedure uses hidden incisions to correct skin laxity, as well as sagging facial and neck skin.  Typically, deep facial tissues like the cheek fat pads and neck muscle (platysma) may be repositioned to correct the effects of aging.  Some patients may also have fatty deposits in the neck that may be sculpted away with liposuction at the time of surgery.

Face lifting procedures often are performed in concert with eyelid surgery, brow lifts, facial skin resurfacing or injectables at the same time to maximize the aesthetic improvement.

Each person’s individual anatomy drives the choices that best suite their needs.  The patient’s input is critical in facial cosmetic correction to be sure the surgeon and patient are on the same page as to the patient’s greatest concerns and to accomplish the desired outcome.

Typical recovery from face lift procedures varies on the aggressiveness of the procedure, the patient’s tissue quality and whether multiple procedures are performed at one setting.  Typically, patients return to work in ten to fourteen days.  The procedure is generally performed under general anesthesia with or without an overnight stay.
