Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

A brachioplasty (arm lift) is used to remove extra skin and fat under the arm.  Newer techniques can allow shorter incisions to perform tissue removal and liposuction of the arm is often part of the procedure.  The procedure is frequently performed in patients who have had major weight loss, leaving loose hanging skin behind.

The procedure most often is performed under general anesthesia (full sleep) though sedation and local anesthesia may be used.

Compression garments decrease swelling and Erchonia® Laser treatments (see Erchonia® page) assist with recovery.  Most patients return to work in seven to ten days and unrestricted activity in three weeks.
