Arizona Liposuction

Liposuction Information

Our practice is known for its integrity and honesty - we are focused on patient education. Therefore, during your visit, various body contouring procedure options may be discussed, such as liposuction surgery. Also termed "liposculpture," liposuction can be performed on the arms, back, flanks, abdomen, inner and outer thighs, and knees. Typically, excess fat deposits are removed from these areas of the body with narrow tubes of varying sizes, called cannulas.

Dr. Nelson offers tumescent liposuction, which entails injecting the target area with a local anesthetic and medication to decrease blood loss and bruising. Laser treatments are combined with this technique in order to increase fat removal; and in order to decrease pain and swelling, our Arizona liposuction surgeon will use a series of laser treatments postoperatively, most commonly using the Erchonia ® Laser.

Additionally, Dr. Nelson offers Zerona T, a non-invasive form of fat removal. Zerona is a laser treatment designed to clear fat without surgery, pain, or recovery time. Zerona is a completely non-invasive type of body contouring.

Those who have experienced multiple pregnancies or massive weight loss may wish to undergo one or more additional procedures. Liposuction is frequently combined with breast augmentation ("augmentation mammaplasty"), breast lift surgery ("mastopexy"), breast reduction ("reduction mammaplasty"), and/or tummy tuck surgery ("abdominoplasty"). Dr. Nelson also combines lipoplasty with full body lifts and arm lift surgery ("brachioplasty") on patients who recently experienced massive weight loss.
